Donnacha Treacy "Racehorse" Bronze, Edition 1/9, 17" x 22" x 8"
Donnacha Treacy is a contemporary Irish sculptor from Galway in the west of Ireland who works primarily in bronze, but also carves in stone. At the Jorgensen Gallery, we have been successfully exhibiting Donnacha's sculptures for a number of years, and his figurative and equestrian bronze sculpture has found a wide audience at the gallery. As part of the 2016 Centenary Anniversary of the Easter Rising, he was commissioned to produce a limited edition medal for the 1916 Fine Art Commemorative Medal Collection. These medals are hand-made in Ireland and cast by the artist in his own fine art bronze foundry. In addition to showing with the Jorgensen Gallery, Donnacha also exhibits regularly at the Vue Contemporary Art Fair at the Royal Hibernian Academy, Dublin and at the Annual Exhibition, also at the Royal Hibernian Academy, Dublin.
